Yup Guys. You saw it. The event are at it again. Needless, Hobbycon 2012 is an ACG (Art, Costume & Games) exhibition, its their 6th years and the last(let us all finger cross and hope its not their last). When I first hear about this was back on their 2nd year term at 2008(Which still at star City Complex) I am just like them (the normal people) who just go there, snap some pictures and so. That also reminds me that I was on me 2 year of Being anime fans for the 2 years. Now looking back on the event it self being the last this year (2012) its really a huge SLAP and WHAAM into my face (seriously it is) I do not know how my life will be without Hobbycon. Well, Probably no effect into my daily life. However, there is for my otaku(Failed one) live.

Also, As for Today's update, I will going to tell you that I will not going to be Moe Chan AKA CRoss dress. WHY? i heard you ask? well the answer is simple. This Year's Hobbycon's Theme are about save the world. That is the reason why I choose dark Gunner. Photo on my Costume You asked me? Well not now... Why? The reason is, that I finally got my perm. job, and i am doing in whenever i got my spare time. However, A little Bit of what I've been doing will be post up here.

This year, Team Ave;New Project are team up with Andy Tay. The Group for the FIRST TIME are now a Nostale Characters There are 3, Adventurer, Holy Mage(my previous costume wear by Andy Tay And Another New comer, Danny Luffy) Not the Rubber kiddo. ON the Holy Mage side, there is nothing much i need to deal with, since that I already done with it last year. Hoever, Adventurer and Dark Gunner are the thing that i will be needing now. So, A little Glimps of what I had been done will be upload by tomorrow or Monday November 27 Night 2012

What is Otafuse?

Otafuse(or Otaku Fussion in my words to called it in full name) Will be trolling with use this September 1st-September 2nd 2012. The first Debut was like on last Year 2011 September.

Otafuse are still relatively new of its kind, which the first time it was debuted at Star City Complex( Which is the same place back in 2007 when during that year, Hobby debuted itself for the first time) Both Acg Event are relatively related on each others. Places where exibitors can put out their's items such as Figma or probably something new from the shops. However most noticeable thing when you were at Otafuse or any ACG events will be Cosplayers. AS for Cosplayers, it was their chances to show off their beloved character that they are try to potrait as. Also in addition of that, They,(the Cosplayers) can show off their art works(The Character's Props). Another than that, there will be some Quiz to troll with or the competition to troll with.

Who knows, When you enter for the first time (Regardless it was Solo or Group competition) and If you able to impress the judges with your own creativity or able to pull out the Originality of the character, For example Cuteness and act hyper all the time(ON stage) and impress the Judges, You might end up in the first place or the third place( but hey that just apply in Cosplay competition only).

For more Accurate infos regarding this Particular event, please Visit Otafuse.com

What are the official rules/unofficial rules/rules for Cosplay?

to tell you the truth there is no such things as the official rules/unofficial rules/rules for Cosplay. Let me give you a situation,

You've watched hours of your favorite anime. You've even subscribed to manga magazines and invested in buying the volumes. You've ordered posters online of your favorite characters. You’ve even act like one (I often do in my room anyway). In addition, now you're ready to attend an anime convention. So, one of the common questions often pop out from your mind was, How do I make sure that my dream costume doesn't turn into a nightmare from hell? Or even, what were the criteria for cosplaying?

If that question asked on me, either I will give them the answer which is based of my experiences of 4 years towards cosplaying, or based on how the majority think on how it should be and remaining it that way.

One of the sacred rules on cosplaying that I learnt/ learnt from someone else’s opinion is. “Cosplay is about dressing up like the character that you admire of/ dream to be/would like to be part of.” Take me for example, I often take things for granted or in other words do thing my ways rather than following an instructions’ on how to do things and understanding them using my own opinions and understanding in which people have shared their opinion with me. I am a Cosplayer and a self proclaimed street cosplayers. Why I say so? Well its simple. To get used of myself with all those weird looks that the people might have on you when you walk pass them. In addition of that, I like to get attention by someone (Attention seeker) and either have them come to me or have a little chat with me or just a simple “Hi” will do. Even there is no Convention I will still on my costume lurking around the nearby city of mine. Why? Well simple does it. Cause I love my character and would like to be on its clothe/ looks. That’s the reason why. It just a simple as that. I mean its Costume Play.

Cosplay is the only way you express your love towards your character that you admired of( If you can draw/ Not doing well in drawing)
People will give you a weird looks on you if it’s the Normal people give you that looks(It’s understandable) however this is happen to/among the cosplayers who in normal clothe and give you the weird looks. In some case they will mock/ make fun of other cosplayers. In my opinion ,as long as You or the cosplayers having fun and not causeing harm to others neither the public or the normal by standers that is fine. Or not getting troubles with the local authorotise.

What are the official rules/unofficial rules/rules for cosplay?

First of all, we all need to know what the actual meaning of “COSPLAY” was
This word. The word “Cosplay” are actually coming from 2 words, which is Costume Play (or Costume player for a person who actually doing so) according to cosplay.co.uk
(Cosplay has a couple of meanings, but the most relevant is the merging of the words costume and play. If you want to wear a costume while attending an event (perhaps even to compete or to perform a short sketch), then you have entered the exciting world of Cosplay.)

According to WIKIPEDIA

Cosplay (コスプレ kosupure), a contraction (or portmanteau) of the English words "costume" and "play", is a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, Japanese movies, or Japanese pop music bands. However, in some circles, "Cosplay" has been expanded to mean simply wearing a costume.
In Japan, "Cosplay" as a hobby is usually an end unto itself. Likeminded people gather to see other costumes, show off their own elaborate handmade creations, take lots of pictures, and possibly participate in best costume contests.
The most specific anecdote about the origin of the word "Cosplay" was that Nov Takahashi (from a Japanese studio called Studio Hard) coined the term "Cosplay" as a contraction of the English-language words "costume play" while he was attending the 1984 Los Angeles Science Fiction Worldcon. He was so impressed by the hall and masquerade costuming there that he reported about it frequently in Japanese science fiction magazines. This ultimately triggered Japanese Cosplay. This point is debatable.
Wikipedia goes on to say that Cosplay in the United States and Europe differs from Japanese Cosplay culture in that Cosplay concerning Sci-Fi films and TV shows along with Renaissance-era characters, and historical re-enactments (i.e. Civil War battles), especially at science fiction conventions, are far more popular in the West than they are in Japan.
It also mentions that another recent trend in Cosplay is a blurring of the distinction between costumes based on characters from games and anime, and "original" costumes based upon a general theme or existing fashions. In particular, the Tokyo teen-fashion trend of gothic Lolita has attracted some cosplayers who might not have the inclination to wear such distinctive clothes around town, but who would like to dress in such a manner on some occasions.

As for my own opinions, Cosplay, is a short form from two (2) words. Which is Costume Play? Cosplay for short. Cosplay defines a person or someone or even some living creatures, who/that dressed up like the character in either the game, animes, or from a real life drama series. Either its fairy tails or just plain sciences fiction. Or even dressed up none of what I mentioned and just a plain fun or just plain strange. Also we all have to remember that Cosplay are not just limited to or only related to or exclusively “FOR Japan ONLY” culture. Cosplay also not to mistaken as “Fashion” related field(though its related with sewing techniques and designing phase before you go make the costume and have the outcome as it looks) To be call it as Cosplay, its easy as 1,2,3. Simple just take something that you want it represent as and dress you in. Other than that, Cosplay is to express your love towards the character that you try to potrait not to impress others (same rules apply for shuffling). For example people don usually go and dress themselves looks like a dead creature, when the person do not really like something which is related to dead or worse, Zombies xD

I begin my career as Cosplayers since December 2009(My first time to do so). In addition of that, I know nothing about Cosplay and stuff. If you ask me why I choose that simple white shirt and blur collar with golden yellow line on it.

Project Moe-Chan #2

Okay as for Today's Update. A lot of progress( or so they said) had been made since hta Project Moe Chan #1 last 2 or 3 weeks ago. ANd as for todays update, was teh rain bots. and how a normal rain bot can turn into something else. Following are the rain bot I use.
Its actually just a normal Rain bot that you deal with everyday. HOwever, in my eyes plus with whole lots of creativity of mine, I can almost do anything i want with it. The image showed was the starting poin of it. And You must have wondering, How is taht Blue line can be made. well its actually easy. Just roll teh paper( we used to do taht alot when we were a kid) then wrap it with a paper like fabric....( locally its called Craft fabric) its pretty much a plushy that we saw at the shop where they put it display. Those kind of fabric are pretty easy to get if you know how to look for it. The next picture was the shoe on how its done. This is how it looks like on front view.
This is the left and right side view of it
NEXT THING!!! was My beloved BAzooka. ON he Bazooka itself, Theres pretty much not that many progress on it..... Since I manage to think of idea how to make the Handle of it.... and i need to put the letters on the bazooka as well. WEll Any how here is it.
THe love bazooka din't have much progress though... HOwever the paint are on and i need to repain everything. WEll unlike last project(the Holy mace) I scrap the old paint and spray white base coat on it. However, This time i will use the white color paint and repaint the whole danm thing. In other words NExt update i will make it all white again and after that I will put the real color pain back. Well YOu must've wonde why i do that.... WEll the reason is simple. 1 of the reason was, I justwant to test the color of it, to see if its really getting along or not. And 2, well The color seems to getting along... However, THe pain ( at some place not getting along well with the surface... so i need to roughen that area using sand paper.)

Project Moe-Chan #1( side updates)

Okay... Before i include more updates into this blog in the matters of Few days, there is something i need to be clear to you all. MY Current Costume Prop Making project(The Moemoe Puruchu costume) or known only as Project Moe chan, are now kind of Hang over on something. The reason that is, Cause Recently I sold My phone I used to capture those images that i posted here. However, that will not stop me from Doing what i am doin now, making prop (slowly that is). The Love Bazooka's Itself (or so they said) are doing well.... well too well until there is something I remove from it. Okay here is the deal. On the last update of my props, on "Project Moe-Chan # 1" there is not so many progress made, Due to my Final College exam are kicking my ass as it is now, with my assignment still stacking up to my neck, and yeah. I got 1 ad habit, Despite those stresses(or so they says) Shove that to my face and the following is my expression
Yeah.. that is how i often will be and will always will be like that when ever I face something pretty nasty in my point of view. Okay back to my Topic, As for my Bazooka (or Love bazooka) there is few things i missing out on its process. What is it? well the 4" socket that i am suppose to put it at the back are in place now, and the top of that love bullets, are not with the ring that i self cut, for it to fit or stay in place (though there is lots of glue wasted on that part) xD. As for the paint, I will Pick the Tao Spray over the Crystal Acrylic spray paint. Thae reason that was cause Tao Spray give me the effects that i want it in its color(except for the blue on on my last project). AS for her Costume..... yeah I already make a little progress on it. I already stick it on a harden Fabric( I dunno how to called it). The thing is like this, its a harden paper like fabric, use to make some certain harder or more harder than it is.(kind of like Viagra for fabrics) xD. Anyway the name was called "kain keras bersama gam" or "Kain keras yang ada gam" (that is our Malaysian Sabah dialets) which means hard fabric with glu. You can gound it on badges or at the colar from a shirt or shirt that is made using very danm soft fabric. like a tuxedo(the white inner suit.

I think this is so far for today's Updates... Hope to see this bazooka get more progress in 3 days time xD.

How To Cosplay… Correctly.

Something of a cosplay hate group has sprung up on Facebook – disparaging people who cosplay as anime characters, if they are not Asian. You may have thought this would be a blog post about how to cosplay correctly, which it is, but it’s also an important statement.

It’s very hard to cosplay incorrectly.

But that’s not what the “Anti-Western Cosplayers” Facebook group says. No, they expect all people who cosplay to be asian. While, admittedly, there are some terrible-to-look-at western cosplayers, these can be found across any race. Here’s a picture that someone else posted to the group:

Here’s what looks like a pretty good western cosplayer on the right, and a not-as-fun-to-look-at cosplayer on the left. Whether or not the left cosplayer is actually asian, as was disputed in the group, is beyond the point. The fact that not all characters represented in anime are intended to be Asian (Edward Elric and FMA is set in a Germany like setting) is not the point either. The point is: Both people are probably having fun. And that’s what really matters.

In addition, that is where I get to telling you how to cosplay. The first step: remember that cosplaying is about having fun, enjoying acting as another character, and making friends with people who like the same things. You might not have a ton of time and money to make the perfect outfit. But that doesn’t matter so long as you enjoy doing it. You can cosplay Cid Highwind and look awesome, but even if you don’t look that perfect, Or the character that YOU want to potrait are a female or male or Lesbians or gays like Yaoi essence(well not over board though. For Example I am doing my costume that which will be deadline on May or so. It doesn’t matter aslong as you had fun, thats the only thin counts. sure comments will be You lookt like a piece of Crap, Or the character not suite you at all, or worse, hey its their right to voice their oppinion to you. so accept it and think of how to make it look nice on you. try think what you had missed out. For example, Make up, is it being done in the right way? contacts, is it the same or almost same as the one that you try to potrait? Props, is it the same thing that I expected it to be? Shoe, is it the right size / patern are correct? when you ask your self that Question, you will know what went missing there. Of course, the first outcome are not very goodlooking one. However, its like programs. You didn't expecting a program are perfectly fine on first release is it? Its the Same thin in costume, a little fix here and there. and Waala. You got it.At teh end of the day, the person wh had more fun/ not so fun day/ in between of it, is you. so remember. Cosplay is YOU try to POTRAIT the character that you like/love or dream to be. Don care what other think of you just go wild either its Cosplay/Crossplay/Crossdress its not about the character that Suite on you. It’sAbout the fun. that you will have when you be your character.

Fox Cosplays

Fox cosplaying is pretty close to my heart. It’s a little more underground than kitty girl cosplayers and yet provides a persona that is recognizably cute and hug worthy.

It’s at the top of my recommendation list for new cosplayers or ladies and gents who are looking for some low-key, easy to assemble or last minute cosplays. Really all that’s required is a pair of oversized pointy fox ears (or re-vamped kitty ears) and maybe a fuzzy tail. Collar and leash totally not required but they make a nice addition. Color scheme of your ears/tail is entirely your choice (though I prefer bright orange). Total amount that you spend shouldn’t top out at more then thirty bucks. To make your cosplay believable (and increase cuteness by tenfold) remember your fox sounds.

Unlike their neko cousins, they do not meow! It’s more of a mrawr or nyar. Purring is acceptable, however. Remember that foxes are not members of the feline family, they’re more K-9. You should get along with dogs much better than catgirls. Go find Inuyasha and scratch his furry ears!(thats really reminds me of Makoto Sawatari in Kanon 2006 and Kanon 2002.

RM500m 'Little Japan' township planned in JB

Well... Like the topic said. Yes, A Japanese investors plan to develop Malaysia's first "Little Japan" township in Taman Molek here for high net worth ethnic Japanese keen to relocate and make Malaysia their second home. I totally Support the ideas(Since I am part of them now) I can Enjoy Japanese Living style in Johor.(If it was a successfull project. In addition, I probably going to moved there one day. (if I was able to Manage my own live here.

Global Asia Assets (M) Sdn Bhd (GAAM), an asset-building consulting company for Japanese investors, which is behind the project, hopes to woo 2,000 wealthy Japanese to live, work or do business here within the next few years.

GAAM chief executive officer Fujimura Masanori said since March last year, some 70 Japanese individuals had already relocated here under the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme.

Additionally, 365 Japanese investors have also acquired high-end residential and commercial properties worth more than RM400mil here since January last year and are expected to also move here permanently soon.

"In view of the overwhelming response, we are eager to kick start the "Little Japan" project in Taman Molek where Japanese individuals are expected to invest over RM500mil in landed houses and luxury apartments over the next few years," said Fujimura.

I read it on a newpaper called Daily Epxpress, in Addition, when i saw this words, "In view of the overwhelming response, we are eager to kick start the "Little Japan"
I was like (Ohh my god thats a nice respond) I wonder if japan Club in Johor also involve in it as well, That is what i was thinking. some friend from Johore also give me this news on Sunday( actually it was way earlier than that).

Fukimura was talking to reporters at the Starhill Golf & Country Club in conjunction with a charity golf tournament in aid of the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami last year.

About 50 golfers, including 20-GAAM customers from Japan had flown here to take part in the event.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross Society for distribution to needy victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami on March 11 last year.

According to Fujimura, "Little Japan", the first of its kind in Malaysia, would be a self-contained township complete with restaurants, spas, medical facilities and retirement homes for Japanese who want to live and work here.

He noted that the Japanese, who have traditionally avoided investing outside of Japan, have enormous amounts of liquid assets lying dormant in Japanese banks.

Fujimura said the response was very positive with Japanese clients buying up 50 per cent of the 248 high-end condominium units in Molek Pine Tower 3 - a project by the Kuok Group subsidiary, Tanjung Bintang Sdn Bhd, which is marketed under the Berinda brand name.

"The developer, in view of the overwhelming response from Japanese buyers, will refit the units with special Japanese features such as Onsen-Spa facilities, Ofuro (Japanese bathtub) and Zen concept landscaping.

"Our clients have already committed over RM400 million in the purchase of units in various residential schemes in Taman Molek and Taman Ponderosa, which is yet another project by Berinda," he said, adding that GAAM will also manage the property on behalf of its clients.

"Johor Baru's proximity to Singapore, coupled with good infrastructure, fine weather, the Government's commitment to boost safety and security and the virtual absence of natural disasters like earthquakes, makes it an ideal place for Japanese to make it their second home," he said.

These residents, he added, would eventually also open Japanese convenience shops, fine restaurants, dental and medical clinics in partnership with locals, traditional medicine shops and even retirement homes catering not only to Japanese clients, but also Singaporeans and locals.

"They will help create jobs, provide skills training, help promote business and contribute to the local economy and the growth of Johor and Malaysia as a whole," he stressed.

Fujimura is confident the "Little Japan" project will take off in a big way because of rapid development in Johor under Iskandar Malaysia, with international schools and universities and top-notch health and medical facilities all opening here soon. BERNAMA

The Day when i almost Face death

As the Tittle suggested, yeah... Ave;new Project are now begin its service for the year 2012. ON the last year, we all see lots of things happened. either i like it or not, I have to shove it to my face. in addition of that, as for this year(2012) well lots 1 big thing happened on me( especially on Feb 01 2012) where i was being put into Hospital @ emergency REd Zone. Not Letheal, but... it just kind of Deadly thing to face with.. And I was like "This close" to face death.

WEll it happened on January 31 2012(Day 9 of Chinese New Year) as i order McDelivery, Fillet O Fish 2 set) Large not to mention, I manage to finish the 1 whole burger itself, however on the second one i only manage to get it 1/2 of it. That is where I chocked myself and almost face death.... and yeah I'm having hard time breathing and I finally give up on dealing with my meal.... and I call my mom.... at that time.... it was like around 1.40+ am ( Considered it as Feb. 01 2012) and yeah i sent to Hospital Like i said earlier.

Being Hospitalized for 14 days, 12 Days in Intensive Care Unit(ICU) during that 12 days there is 3 days that I was supported by the breathing machine( which mean the Hose being put into your lungs). and the strange part of it was.. I was Awake and aware of the hose in me. the doctor was totally surprise that i was awake.. even though the medicine that suppose to keep me sleep for 3 days are pumped into my body system(LOL). In other words "Incubated" I dunno how to say that...... Just to give you all a heads up... Its not the hen Sit on the Egg kind of Concept( if you get the pictures)

Anonymous 'threatens' to take down Facebook in Operation Global Blackout (VIDEO)

Original post on here

Following a massive attack waged Thursday on several government and entertainment industry websites, hacktivists with Anonymous continued their assault over the weekend, momentarily taking CBS.com offline.

The next target very well might be Facebook.

The shut-down of the file sharing site Megaupload last week prompted thousands of users to participate in an Anonymous-led attack on opponents of the service, which left the websites for the FBI, Department of Justice, Motion Picture Association of America and Universal Music Group, among others, momentarily crippled.

The move, believed to be the largest Anonymous-led online initiative in the group’s history, was continued during the weekend when operatives participating managed to divert all traffic away from CBS.com. For around 20 minutes, the television network’s main site was unavailable on the Web to surfers across the world. Additionally, a second assault on Universal Music Group, or UMG, was waged and once again rendered the site unavailable. Universal is the largest record label in America and already revealed itself as an opponent to Megaupload before last week’s raid.

Sunday’s take-down of CBS.com and UMG was also accompanied by similar initiatives on foreign websites linked to anti-copyright legislation, including Polish and French government sites. According to some alleged Anonymous members, however, the bombardment doesn’t stop just there. In a new video uploaded to YouTube on Monday, a person claiming to work under the guise of Anonymous announces plans to take on the social networking giant Facebook in the coming days.

“An online war has begun between Anonymous, the people, and the government of the United States,” recites a digitized voice in the video clip. “While SOPA and PIPA may be postponed from Congress, this does not guarantee that our Internet rights will be upheld.” To insure that online freedoms aren’t further crushed, says the Anonymous operative, an assault should be launched on Facebook to make it clear to the US government just how strong the opponents of Internet laws such as SOPA and PIPA are.

“We've already crashed CBS, Warner Brothers and FBI sites; Facebook is our next aim. This will be enough to show them indeed that we are not playing,” continues the video.

The US Copyright office, the Recording Industry Association of America, BMG and other sites were targeted in last week’s attacks, which used a Distributed Denial-of-Service, or DDoS assault, to render the sites unavailable. Participants allege that they also waged an attempt at taking down the websites for both the Department of Defense and the White House, but were unsuccessful at taking them offline.

According to the latest clip, another DDoS attack will be launched on January 28 against Facebook in the same manner that the previous week’s assaults were conducted against the entertainment industry and government sites. The narrator of the clip and an accompanying text description provide detailed information on how to go about conducting the attack, which is done using a simple piece of software called the Low Orbit Ion Cannon, or LOIC.

Nearly 6,000 users broke the servers of the FBI and others last week using the LOIC program in an attempt that was mostly under the radar until news outlets eventually broke the story. With an attack against Facebook being plotted days in advance, a DDoS attack, while difficult to conduct to a degree worthy of taking down Mark Zuckerberg’s tremendous amount of servers, could very well happen.

“While it is true that Facebook has at least 60,000 servers, it is still possible to bring it down,” announces the voice in the video.

Others aligned to the group have shunned the would-be ambush, however, and insist that it does not represent the mission of the group as a whole. With no formal leader or membership though, it is easy for conflicting ideas and agendas to easily go viral on the Web without any authorization from those involved in past missions.

“Lulz at people saying we would take down Twitter, FaceBook and YouTube,” reads a tweet in response from the YourAnonNews account. “Why would Anon take down how we send our messages?”

Regardless of the legitimacy of the claim made in the latest YouTube clip, it is not the first attack on Facebook perpetrated by an alleged member of Anonymous. A previous attack was scheduled for November 5, 2011, but never materialized. In that case, a similar YouTube video was released ahead of time and informed viewers that “Facebook has been selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world.”

The November 5 attack was expected to accompany similar assaults, including a takedown of FoxNews.com, that while reported, fell through.

“When you're planning to hack someone, don't tell them in advance. More importantly, don't tell them exactly when you're planning to rock their universe,” Matt Peckham, a tech writer for TIME, said before the last planned take-down.

In the new video, however, the alleged Anonymous operative uses the YouTube platform not just as a means of preparing for the assault, but as a recruitment tool

“Would you like to become part of the greatest Internet protest and first official cyber war?” asks the video’s narrator.

Yet Another Reminder That Democracy Is An Illusion‏

Date: January 23, 2012
Reporting From: Santiago, Chile

With over 150 million registered users, the file sharing site MegaUpload.com is one of the most popular on the Internet. At least, it was.

Sorry for the blurly image... However, You can go to megaupload.com to see it yourself

The site has now been seized by the US government and its homepage converted to an FBI anti-piracy warning Along with my files in there too). Its founder, a high tech entrepreneur named Kim Dotcom (yes, he had it legally changed), was arrested in New Zealand after his homes were raided and assets seized.

These actions were all at the behest of the US government. And it's just the latest example of Big Brother overextending its authority across the entire world.

Last week, we discussed the grassroots efforts to stop passage of the SOPA/PIPA legislation that would give the US government jurisdiction over the Internet. Wikipedia blacked out its English language pages to raise awareness of the issue, and people went completely nuts.

Congress subsequently withdrew the bills amid popular outcry, and the public rejoiced that their efforts successfully thwarted further encroachment on their liberty. Or so they thought.

On the exact same day that everyone was celebrating victory over SOPA/PIPA, the US government simply used another set of regulations to nab Dotcom and seize his assets. The fact that SOPA was scrapped turned out to be completely irrelevant, they just found other rules to apply (or break).

As usual, it's probably not legal. But such technicalities don't matter in the 'guilty until proven innocent' system in which we live. Executive agencies exercise extreme latitude when confiscating assets, and victims often don't have the opportunity to address the matter in front of a judge for years, if ever.

In Dotcom's case, the man probably won't even successfully make it past the extradition process for at least a year... let alone bring the issue to trial. The government is using its bureaucracy to completely circumvent due process and make an example of somebody that they consider a nuisance.

So why should they care? What interest could the US government possibly have in a silly file sharing site? None. But the entertainment industry does.

You see, we don't live in a representative democracy. Democracy is an illusion to make people believe that they're free. Instead, it's blocs of large corporations who are really in control. If the entertainment business wants Kim Dotcom to go away, the government will invent or break any law necessary to make it happen. They're all in bed together.

What's more, it doesn't matter which group or party is in power. Democrat or Republican, Labour or Conservative, Liberal or New Democratic... they're all for sale. Citizens concern themselves with the outcome of elections, investing heavy emotional and financial support for 'their guy'. Companies just wait it out and buy off whichever candidates win.

Kim Dotcom, though a wealthy and successful entrepreneur, was essentially a lone wolf standing against the entire industry. Rather than find ways to work with him in what is clearly emerging as a dominant media platform, they chose to eliminate him... by having the US government send the New Zealand government to arrest him and seize his assets.

It's mind numbing when you really think about it.

Ultimately, Dotcom may successfully find his way back to a normal life after years in court and perhaps some time in jail. In the meantime, though, his case certainly makes a strong argument for flying under the radar. It's a stark reminder that, if they really want to get you, they'll apply, invent, or break whatever laws are necessary to do so.

Megaupload Goes Bye Bye.

This is what happen if you allow SOPA and PIPA LAws to enforce and bills that aiming to sop online piracy. in Addition, You all know what i mean by Online piracy right? For those who is still blur around the corner here is one good example. Utorrents, bittorents, or some torrents of torrents(dunno what the heck was that) Torrents are pretty famous on Online copy right materials. Heck they should do that on the torrents instead of those popular file sharings like Mediafire, Megaupload, Easyshare, 4Shared, and many more. AND COUNTING.

Anonymous was quick to target the Justice Department, Universal Music, the RIAA, and MPAA in the wake of this afternoon's Megaupload announcement, with the Web sites for all four organizations succumbing to distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Justice.gov and universalmusic.com went offline around 430pm Eastern and have been largely unresponsive for the past 1.5 hours. RIAA.com and MPAA.org are also unresponsive.

"Recording Industry Association of America—Department of Justice—Universal Music—all TT, all TANGO DOWN," Anonymous tweeted this evening with the #OpMegaUpload hashtag.

"The Department of Justice web server hosting justice.gov is currently experiencing a significant increase in activity, resulting in a degradation in service," the DOJ said in a statement. "The Department is working to ensure the website is available while we investigate the origins of this activity, which is being treated as a malicious act until we can fully identify the root cause of the disruption."

Earlier today, the DOJ announced the shutdown of file-sharing site Megaupload. Seven individuals and two corporations were indicted for copyright infringement and could face up to 50 years in prison. Megaupload earned approximately $750 million for its exploits and incurred about $1 billion in damages, the agency alleged.

In its statement, the DOJ said the takedown was "among the largest criminal copyright cases ever brought by the United States."

How does Universal Music play into this? Megaupload's CEO is Kasseem Dean, better known as hip hop producer Swizz Beatz and husband of Alicia Keys. As reported by the New York Post, Beatz asked high-profile friends like Sean "Diddy" Combs, Kanye West, and Will.i.am to participate in a video promoting Megaupload, which did not sit too well with the artists' label, Universal Music Group. Last month, Universal had YouTube pull "Mega Song," prompting a lawsuit from Megaupload, according to TorrentFreak.

Anonymous has never been a fan of efforts to take down copyright infringers. The group has targeted Sony over its efforts to sue PlayStation hacker George Hotz and gone after the RIAA and the MPAA on numerous occasions.

In a statement issued this afternoon, the MPAA championed the Megaupload takedown. "This criminal case, more than two years in development, shows that law enforcement can take strong action to protect American intellectual property stolen through sites housed in the United States," said Chris Dodd, MPAA chairman and CEO.

The RIAA, meanwhile, said it was "deeply grateful" for the Megaupload shutdown. "The indictment outlines a sinister scheme to generate massive profits through the distribution of the stolen intellectual property of others," RIAA chairman and CEO Cary Sherman said in a statement.

The Megaupload taken down and the DDoS attacks come one day after many Web sites went dark in protest of anti-piracy legislation, the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA). The bills would allow the DOJ to go after overseas, "rogue" Web sites, but opponents argue that the measures are too broad and could harm legitimate Web sites.

The RIAA's Sherman, a supporter of SOPA and PIPA, said the Megaupload news demonstrates why the bills are necessary. "If [Megaupload] were hosted and operated, for example, in a foreign country, our government would be essentially powerless to do anything about it. That needs to change," Sherman said.

For more, see the Top 5 Objections to SOPA, PIPA and PCMag analysts' take on the bills, as well as the slideshow below, which features screen shots from Web sites that participated in yesterday's blackout.

Wikipedia Blackout January 18: 5 Things to Know About the SOPA, PIPA Protest

Wikipedia will initiate a blackout on Wednesday, Jan. 18, in protest of the anti-piracy bills SOPA and PIPA. SOPA and PIPA are two Congressional bills meant to halt the illegal copying and sharing of movies and music on the Internet, among other aims. However, major Internet organizations -- such as Wikipedia, Reddit and Boing Boing -- claim the bills will hinder their operations and are ready to protest.

Wikipedia, Reddit, Boing Boing and Anonymous will go dark Wednesday in condemnation of SOPA and PIPA. "This is going to be wow," Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, said on Twitter. "I hope Wikipedia will melt phone systems in Washington on Wednesday. Tell everyone you know!"

"If you want an Internet where human rights, free speech and the rule of law are not subordinated to the entertainment industry's profits, I hope you'll join us," said Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing.

Even gargantuan Internet companies like Facebook, Google, Twitter and Tumblr have denounced the bills.

PIPA, the Protect IP Act, and SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act, however, have received support from the music and film industries.

"More than 2.2 million hard-working, middle-class people in all 50 states depend on the entertainment industry for their jobs and many millions more work in other industries that rely on intellectual property," Michael O'Leary of the Motion Picture Association of America said in a statement. "For all these workers and their families, online content and counterfeiting by these foreign sites mean declining incomes, lost jobs and reduced health and retirement benefits."

Over the weekend, the White House hinted at toning down the two bills after the influx of protest.

"While we believe that online piracy by foreign websites is a serious problem that requires a serious legislative response, we will not support legislation that reduces freedom of expression, increases cybersecurity risk, or undermines the dynamic, innovative global Internet," wrote three White House managers, including Aneesh Chopra, the U.S. Chief Technology Officer.

So what do you need to know about the Wikipedia Blackout?

Wikipedia Will Go Dark for 24 Hours

Wikipedia will go dark for 24 hours. The Web site will shut down its English-language site beginning at 05:00 UTC on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Read the official statement from Wikipedia here.

Wikipedia is a hugely popular site, particularly amongst students. On Tuesday, founder Jimmy Wales highlighted this importance.

"Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor, it must be demanded by the oppressed, MLK on Wednesday, Wikipedia demands," Wales said via Twitter Monday, on Martin Luther King Day. He told students: "Student warning! Do your homework early. Wikipedia protesting bad law on Wednesday! #sopa."

The official statement notes the impact the bill could have on the Internet as a free entity.

"Today Wikipedians from around the world have spoken about their opposition to this destructive legislation," said Wales in the official statement. "This is an extraordinary action for our community to take - and while we regret having to prevent the world from having access to Wikipedia for even a second, we simply cannot ignore the fact that SOPA and PIPA endanger free speech both in the United States and abroad, and set a frightening precedent of Internet censorship for the world."

Reddit Will Go Dark for 12 Hours

Reddit, the a "crowd-curated" information sharing forum, will go dark for 12 hours on Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST (1300-0100 UTC).

"We've seen some amazing activism organized by redditors at /r/sopa and across the reddit community at large. You have made a difference in this fight; and as we near the next stage, and after much thought, talking with experts, and hearing the overwhelming voices from the reddit community, we have decided that we will be blacking out reddit," reads the official statement.

Instead of publishing its typical content, Reddit will circulate anti-PIPA/SOPA information on how the legislation will hinder sites like Reddit, provide links to resources to learn more and suggest how citizens can take action.

Other, possibly lesser-known sites have also joined the anti-PIPA/SOPA coalition and will also go dark Wednesday. Users on Reddit compiled a list of sites that will enact a blackout, including: all Cheezeburger sites, Explosm, Red 5 Studios, CryptoCat, FreakOutNation, Major League Gaming, RageMaker, SkyTemple and more. Click here to view the thread.

Blackout Has Support from Internet Titans

Not only are Wikipedia, Reddit, Boing Boing and Anonymous against PIPA/SOPA. Internet titans have also voiced opposition.

"There isn't one technology company or venture capitalist who supports these bills," Markham Erickson, the executive director of NetCoalition, a trade group representing Google, eBay and others, told ABC News.

"An 'Internet blackout' would obviously be both drastic and unprecedented," NetCoalition said in a statement. "We hope that the Senate will cancel its scheduled vote on PIPA so that we can get back to working with members on how to address the concerns raised by the MPAA [Motion Picture Association of America] and others without threatening our nation's security or future innovation and jobs."

Tumblr Encourages Calling House Representatives, Offers Talking Points

Tumblr, a microblogging platform and social media networking site, has been encouraging activism since November. That month, the Web site facilitated 87,834 individuals to call their representatives with a total of 1,293 hours of talking time in protest of the PIPA/SOPA bills.

Tumblr still offers a form that will connect you to your House Representative and offer talking points on how to dispute the legislation. Click here to access this.

SOPA Could Be Shelved

On Monday, California congressman Darrell Issa, an opponent of SOPA, stated that he had been told by House majority leader Eric Cantor that no vote on SOPA will transpire "unless there is consensus on the bill," shelving the legislation until further notice. This move "effectively scuppers" SOPA, noted the Guardian.

PIPA, derogatorily known as the e-Parasite bill, comes to vote on Jan. 24. Issa stated, "While I remain concerned about Senate action on the Protect IP Act, I am confident that flawed legislation will not be taken up by this House.

Wikipedia goes dark for 24 hours to protest web piracy bills.

SAN FRANCISCO – Can the world live without Wikipedia for a day?

The user-driven online encyclopedia is one of the Internet's most visited sites, and at midnight Eastern Standard Time it began a 24-hour "blackout" in protest against proposed anti-piracy legislation that many leading websites -- including Reddit, Google, Facebook, Amazon and others -- contend will make it challenging if not impossible for them to operate.

It's a dramatic response to the Protect Intellectual Property Act under consideration in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, a pair of bills backed by the motion picture and recording industries that are intended to eliminate theft online once and for all.

Simply put, S. 968 and H.R. 3261 would require ISPs to block access to foreign websites that infringe on copyrights. Online piracy from China and elsewhere is a massive problem for the media industry, one that costs as much as $250 billion per year and costs the industry 750,000 jobs, according to a 2008 statement by Patrick Leahy, D-Vt. But how exactly the bills would counter piracy has many up in arms.

"There are smart, targeted ways to shut down foreign rogue websites without asking American companies to censor the Internet," Google spokeswoman Samantha Smith told FoxNews.com on Tuesday. The site joined Wikipedia by presenting readers with a black bar over its logo, and other websites have prominent SOPA protest content posted. But the online encyclopedia's blackout is a line-in-the-sand action -- and it isn't sitting well with some of its volunteer editors.

"My main concern is that it puts the organization in the role of advocacy, and that's a slippery slope," said editor Robert Lawton, a Michigan computer consultant who would prefer that the encyclopedia stick to being a neutral repository of knowledge. "Before we know it, we're blacked out because we want to save the whales."

Instead of encyclopedia articles, visitors to the site saw a stark black-and-white page with the message: "Imagine a world without free knowledge." It carried a link to information about the two congressional bills and details about how to reach lawmakers.

The shutdown adds to a very vocal body of critics who are speaking out against the legislation. But the bill's many supporters -- including the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and News Corp., the parent company of FoxNews.com -- argue that those critics simply misunderstand the bill.

“Anti-piracy legislation now before Congress finally addresses the threat of foreign piracy, and it’s unfortunate that so many opponents have resorted to inaccurate and flatly dishonest claims in an attempt to derail it," said Timothy Lee, vice president of legal and public affairs for the Center for Individual Freedom.

Chris Dodd, chairman of the MPAA, denounced the blackout as a stunt, News.com reported. "[It's] an irresponsible response and a disservice to people who rely on [the sites] for information and [who] use their services."
